Events with Influencers and Other Networking Opportunities
Best for: Brands with a physical location or brands that travel to conventions, conferences, and trade shows. Also, brands that have a nice-looking office space that can entertain visitors.
Minimum Budget to Get Started: varies, depending on ticket prices and costs of the event, as well as whether you plan to sponsor travel costs for influencers who wish to attend.
Nothing beats a personalized experience with your brand. As polished and curated as your brand’s Instagram feed may be, influencers and their audiences like to see behind the curtain to see what makes your company tick. In-person networking events can help influencers share an authentic experience with your brand and see behind-the-scenes of your next promotion.
Branded Events and Launch Parties
If you are planning a brand event or new product launch party, this is the perfect solution to get the word out. Find influencers who are local to your area or send invites to influencers across the country to attend your event. You can even sponsor certain influencers to attend the event and pay for their travel expenses in exchange for them sharing memorable parts of your event in real-time.
At the event, be sure to have defined opportunities for the influencer to create content. This could be presenting opportunities to interview certain members of the team, allowing them first looks at the event’s main attractions, or even creating an area that caters to photographs and selfies. Instagram’s Desert Chill branded house during Coachella is the perfect example of this.
You’ll also want to treat your influencers to some sample products and branded swag to ensure that they have a great time and can easily share about your products at the event.
Inviting Influencers to the Office
You don’t necessarily have to hold an entire event to accomplish this type of influencer content either. If you have a facility that would be interesting to influencers, you can invite them to tour the site and create content. You can share a view of your company as they visit your office space, warehouse, production center, or other physical locations to share a bit of behind-the-scenes fun with your brand.
You can give the influencer a tour of the site, allow the influencer to interview or ask questions of key members of the team (especially exciting for bloggers), or share new, never-before-seen products as a sneak peek to the influencer’s audience. All of these options provide a candid view of your brand and products that only an outsider can offer, and an influencer will be thrilled to have the exclusive access.
If you are inviting an influencer to visit your facility, you can also plan some activities with that influencer. A photo shoot can create content that you can use on your product listings, or that the influencer can share to their social profiles, so it’s a win-win!
